My name is Aryal Sayeja, and I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur. With over five years of experience in the development sector, I have actively advocated for gender equality, social inclusion, and child protection. I am committed to the principle of helping people empower themselves and thrive in their communities. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Lecturer at Janata Multiple Campus, Itahari, where I teach Bachelor’s level social work students. My role includes organizing research projects aimed at identifying community problems and addressing social issues through practical interventions. I also supervise field-based research that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving among students. Throughout my professional journey, I have worked in various capacities, including as a Child Protection Focal Person at Shangri-la Orphanage Home, where I focused on the welfare and protection of underprivileged children. I was also a part of the Child Safeguarding Management Committee and Resource Mobilization Committee at SOSEC Nepal during my work tensure at social service centre Nepal as a advocacy, reporting and documentation coordinator, where I contributed to project management, child rights advocacy, documentation and so on. In addition during my work experience, I have been actively involved in advocacy and campaigns addressing critical social issues. I have led campaigns on topics such as child marriage, dignified menstruation, and violence against women, while also advocating for climate change adaptation and protection of marginalized communities like the Raute nomads. I was recognized for my efforts with awards from organizations such as Amnesty International and the International Citizenship Service (ICS). I aim to educate young people about digital safety and collaborate with the teamto create a safer digital environment for all. Through this opportunity, I hope to expand my knowledge and work on promoting digital rights and safety at a larger scale.
