Short Bio

I am a registered pharmacist and I completed my bachelor's degree from Kathmandu University. I got interested in the field of data science in general while I was extracting possible features from a high dimensional data generated during an experiment. At that time, I came to know the vast amount of personal data collected and stored by various digital platforms, specifically social networking sites. Especially, during the early stages of these platforms, there were little to no regulatory and legal provisions moderating this sensitive data. In Nepal, we are still lagging in the sector of data privacy and data protection, and, owing to this, the incidences of cyber crimes are increasing rapidly. In this context, Digital Rights Nepal has initiated this nationwide program-Digital Rights School. I have applied to attend the program due to its comprehensive coverage on contemporary topics like online freedom of expression, privacy and data protection, information integrity, digital literacy and online violence.
